Remains identified as Ferndale woman missing since 2006

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has identified a human skull found in late November as that of a Ferndale woman who has been missing since 2006.
Sandy L. Rideout of Ferndale was reported as a missing person by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office in 2006.
She was last seen in Bellingham, but it is believed frequented the Seattle area around that time.
Major crimes detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Seattle Police Department’s missing persons unit.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Rideout's remains were discovered by a logger on the morning of Wednesday, November 25 while marking trees on privately-owned timber land, about five miles west of SR 2 between Gold Bar and Index.

No other human remains or evidence was found at the site.
The cause and manner of her death are pending further investigation.
Anyone with information about Rideout’s whereabouts since April 24, 2006 or has any information about her death are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tipline at  425-388-3845.
