Refueling truck hits plane at Sea-Tac Airport

SEATTLE — Shortly before the boarding process began Thursday morning, a refueling truck struck the engine of a Delta plane that was scheduled to depart to New York’s JFK Airport around 7 a.m.

KIRO 7’s Henry Rosoff was supposed to board that plane and captured cellphone video shortly before the accident.

No fuel was spilled and the damage caused was described as cosmetic, according to Perry Cooper, who is the media officer for Sea-Tac Airport.

That plane will have to be checked out before it can be put back into service. Another Delta plane that was already at Sea-Tac was put into service for the flight. The flight departed without further incident shortly after 8 a.m.
