SEATTLE — Police say a woman was shot and killed inside a tent at a Seattle homeless encampment.
The shooting was reported in the Yesler Terrace area at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, witnesses reported that the woman, in her 40s, was sitting in a tent when someone reached in with a handgun and began shooting.
She was struck several times before the suspect fled.
Fire department medics rushed her to a hospital, where she died.
Police say the identity of the shooter is not known.
