LYNDEN, Wash. — A 10-year-old girl was injured after she escaped an attempted abduction Friday afternoon, police said.
According to the Lynden Police Department, the incident happened near the intersection of 4th Street and Liberty.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report before 4 p.m. of a man who tried to abduct a girl.
The girl got away with minor injuries.
Police described the man as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a black T-shirt and white, brown and black plaid shorts.
The man’s vehicle is described as a white, full-size, extended cab pickup with a tool box in the bed. There is a distinct gold-colored cross on the left side of the tailgate.
