A man was stabbed several times in the chest Saturday morning in West Seattle, police said.
SEATTLE — The stabbing happened in the 1700 block of Southwest Barton Street after 11 a.m.
According to police, officers responded to a residence in the area after a report of the stabbing.
When police arrived, they found a 51-year-old man, who was stabbed multiple times in the chest.
Crews took the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in serious condition.
Police found a man in the area, who was positively identified by witnesses, in connection with the stabbing.
According to police, the man was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered.
Police will continue to investigate the stabbing.
