PUYALLUP, Wash. — Police are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred in a home near Puyallup.
KIRO 7's assignment desk first started hearing about the incident at 1:45 a.m. Monday after a family member called 911.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old man shot and killed a 35-year-old woman before killing himself at the duplex in the 11200 block of 71st Avenue Court East.
No one else was in the home at the time of the shooting. The victim's 15-year-old daughter and the victim's cousin discovered the bodies in the duplex when they saw the two people on the floor and then forced their way in.
Police said the woman lived in the duplex and she and the man had been in a relationship on and off.
