EVERETT, Wash. — Four workers at the Snohomish County Transfer Station near Paine Field were taken to the hospital after a hazmat incident around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
South Snohomish Fire said the workers reported burning in their eyes.
Hazmat crews at the scene said they found a 2.5-gallon container of industrial cleaning solution near where the people were working had been spilled.
Crews said the conditions of the workers were non-life-threatening.
The transfer station was closed, according to MYEVERETTNEWS.COM.
