MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Authorities said a man was killed in a hang gliding accident about 75 miles north of Seattle.
the incident happened at about 5 p.m. Wednesday near the Samish Overlook on Blanchard Mountain.
Skagit County Fire District 14 Chief David Skrinde confirmed the death and said authorities were investigating.
The Skagit County medical examiner identified the victim as 64-year-old Bellingham man Thomas J. Olney.
Olney died of blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.
