No charges for officers who shot Auburn man 16 times

AUBURN, Wash. — Two officers who shot an unarmed man 16 times while he was in bed will not face criminal charges.

A King County deputy and a corrections officer were serving a warrant for another man at the Auburn home in 2012.

They said Dustin Theoharis looked like he was reaching for a gun.  He was shot in the face, abdomen, legs and arm.

Theoharis, who survived the shooting, won a $3 million dollar settlement from King County two years ago.

The Seattle Times reports prosecutors rejected criminal charges for the officers Friday.
