The Washington State Patrol saw three drive-by shootings in the last three days.

“A press release was sent out on May 18, detailing the 17th drive-by shooting on the freeways in King County being investigated by the Washington State Patrol. It is alarming that I have to report there have been three more since that date,” said Trooper Rick Johnson.

The first shooting was around 8 p.m. on May 18. WSP got a call from a man who said he was shot at and a bullet hit his car.

The man said he was traveling westbound on State Route 520 to Interstate 405 when he changed lanes and another white car changed lanes at the same time, so he changed back. The man said words were exchanged and then he heard a loud bang.

He looked back and saw the driver holding a gun. He wasn’t able to get a picture of the license plate but described the alleged shooter as a 40 to 50-year-old Hispanic man with dark hair driving a white sedan. The man said he wasn’t injured but found a bullet in the left passenger door of his car, a 2019 Kia Stinger.

The second shooting happened just after midnight on May 19. A man said his car was shot at multiple times on southbound SR 599 by SR 99. WSP said troopers arrived and confirmed his car, a 2018 Cadillac XTS, was hit twice and no injuries were sustained.

The man said the alleged shooter’s car was a red sedan and had three people inside. Troopers found 10 9mm casings in the area.

The third shooting happened May 19 just after 11 p.m. southbound on SR 167 near SR 18. A person said they were followed by a black Dodge Charger or white Toyota when two of their back windows were shot out. There were no injuries. The person wasn’t able to provide any other information.

WSP said it is “disturbed by all of the shootings” and is thankful no one was injured. Detectives are seeking anyone that may have witnessed the shootings or has information that can identify the vehicles or suspects.
