Body of man recovered from Lake Washington

Water rescue

SEATTLE — The body of a man was recovered from Lake Washington on Thursday, Seattle police said.

Police said the man’s body was found just north of Andrews Bay.

Officials said the King County Medical Examiner will determine if the body is that of a man reported to have gone underwater while boating Sunday.

In that incident, rescue crews were called after 5:30 p.m. to the 5000 block of Lake Washington Boulevard South.

Officials said divers searched for more than an hour for the man, but they did not find him.

Firefighters turned the scene over to the police.

Fire officials said that it was, “… an unfortunate reminder to always wear a life jacket when swimming in open water.”
