Washington’s first alpine coaster to open this week near Leavenworth

Washington State’s first alpine coaster is set to open Thursday, June 1 near Leavenworth.

Leavenworth Adventure Park is set on a mountain at the entrance to the Tumwater Canyon.

Riders can enjoy a tour of Tumwater Canyon, Icicle Ridge, the Wenatchee River rapids, and the town of Leavenworth at a full speed of 27 mph or riders can use the brakes and coast along the track’s three-helix circles, drops, and curves.

Each sled holds one to two people and includes tamper-proof safety belts.

Riders will also receive a photo of themselves taken during the ride.

The Adventure Park also features a climbing wall, a trampoline station, and a mining activity for kids.
