LAS VEGAS — Authorities in Las Vegas have identified a Washington state man who was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on a sidewalk not far from McCarran International Airport.
The Clark County coroner said Friday that Daniel Arredondo Garcia, 53, of Yakima, Washington, died of blunt force injuries following crash a little before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
His death was ruled an accident.
Las Vegas police said Garcia was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was struck by a 2016 Kia Sportage driven by Crystal Bailey, 38, of Las Vegas.
Bailey was questioned at the scene and police said officers were investigating what caused the vehicle to cross the road and drive onto the sidewalk on Gilespie Street near Sunset Road.
Police said Bailey did not appear to have been impaired while driving.
