TSA holding hiring event at SEA on Saturday

SEATAC, Wash. — The Transportation Security Administration is holding a recruiting event at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Saturday.

Transportation security officers are needed for both full and part-time positions. The jobs start at $20.79 an hour.

Positions at SEA have a $1,000 hiring bonus, which includes $500 after onboarding and $500 after a year on the job. The bonuses apply to new transportation security officers hired by Sept. 30.

Job duties include operating screening equipment, searching and screening baggage and passengers, controlling airport entry and exit points, answering passenger questions and giving directions.

You must be able to work various shifts and overtime as needed.

No security experience is required. Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent security experience and be a U.S. citizen.

Applicants must not have delinquent federal or state taxes or past due child support payments.

The recruiting event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the TSA Administrative Offices, 18000 International Blvd., Ground Level, South Tower at SEA.

Applicants should bring a smartphone and passwords to access their email or USAJOBS account.

They will also need to provide two forms of valid federal or state government-issued identification.
