KIRKLAND, Wash. — A 16-year-old boy was shot at a Kirkland park and later died from his injuries Wednesday night.
It happened about 8:15 p.m. at Houghton Beach Park at 5811 Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast.
When officers arrived, they found the victim. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police said there were several people in the park at the time of the shooting, and witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing two men running from the park.
Police searched the area, but the suspects were not found.
Investigators said they found additional witnesses and evidence which may help in providing a detailed description of the suspects. Police said they will provide a description once it is available.
The park remains closed for the investigation.
