SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A suspected thief who was found passed out in a stolen car was arrested after fleeing from Lynnwood police early Thursday.
Law enforcement said they found a stolen car that was connected to several crimes.
The car was running and the driver was passed out, police said.
After police placed stop sticks under the car, they woke the driver, whom they said threw the car in reverse and rammed a patrol vehicle.
Police said the driver backed over grass and bushes and fled until the car stopped in the 23000 block of 56th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace due to the impact of the stop sticks.
The driver jumped out, ran, and was found hiding under a tarp in a nearby yard by K-9 Rico and his handler, authorities said.
The man, who has a criminal history and several warrants, was taken into custody without incident.
