KENT, Wash. — A man suspected in a fatal shooting early Sunday in a Kent parking lot was arrested, police said.
Officers responded around 2 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Alderbrook Apartments, located at 412 Novak Lane.
When police got there, they found dozens of witnesses in the parking lot along with the shooting victim.
Officers performed lifesaving measures on the 34-year-old Kent man, but he died at the scene, according to a release.
Police said that initial information indicates that there was a confrontation between the victim and suspect, and the suspect then fired at the victim in his car.
The suspect, an 18-year-old man, fled the scene before police arrived. He was later found and taken into custody.
Police said the incident was not random.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
