Some areas get wet snow or wintry mix with hail, thunder possible

WESTERN WASHINGTON — It may be spring, but some areas are still getting some wet snow.

Snow or a wintry mix was reported to be falling from Port Townsend to Burien to Tiger Mountain, Maple Valley and other areas.

Here’s what to expect for Monday and the rest of the week.

Forecast

It is cool Monday afternoon with plenty of showers moving through.

We have had some ice pellet showers and quite a few areas saw some wet snow showers.

For the rest of the day, we’ll see sunbreaks develop with showers increasing again in the afternoon.

If anything is heavy, even as our snow levels rise, there could be some wet snow or ice pellet showers.

There is also the potential for some isolated thunderstorms.  Highs will be in the mid to upper-40s.

Tuesday there will be a few showers around early, but they will decrease a bit as the day goes on. We should see some partly sunny skies and temps staying cool in the low-50s.

Most of Wednesday will be dry, but we’ll see increasing clouds and some rain late in the day. Thursday a more substantial system will move in for rainy and breezy with snow in the mountains.

Most of Friday and Saturday will be partly sunny with just a few showers here and there. Into Sunday, another rainy system will move in.
