BURLINGTON, Wash. — A couple of smash-and-grab burglars hit a small family-owned jewelry store in downtown Burlington early Thursday.
Surveillance video showed the burglars smashing the glass door with a big rock to get into Charles Fine Jewelry around 3:43 a.m.
The burglars then uncovered the display cases, smashed the glass and grabbed display jewelry, filling a camouflage backpack and a black backpack.
Although the store alarm went off, the thieves did not appear to rush out, as they smashed other cases and grabbed more things.
There was a getaway driver that waited outside in an older-model dark sedan.
Representatives with the store told customers all their items that were being worked on or repaired were in a secure safe.
