Sewage then overflowed and dumped into a stormwater line that flows right into lake Washington at Magnuson Park.

Seattle Public Utilities contained overflow and UW contractors helped clear the blockage.

The beach areas at Magnuson Park will be shut down for at least two days while the city monitors water quality.

The boat launch is open but boaters are advised not to touch the water.
