With all the construction happening in Seattle, new apartment buildings are popping up everywhere. Some Seattle apartments are offering incentives appealing to new renters in the market.
KIRO 7 talked to tenants and staff at three apartment complexes -- in the South Lake Union and First Hill neighborhoods -- and found the newer the apartment, the more aggressive the deal that’s being offered.

Forty percent of new apartment units in Seattle are empty, according to recent statistics from RealData, Inc.\Apartment Insights, an Arizona-based consulting firm. These numbers are the highest since the 2008 recession, at 7.5 percent.
