SEATTLE — Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman D.J. Fluker is marking the start of a new school year by giving back to the community.

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Fluker will give out free school supplies at Jefferson Park – located at 3801 Beacon Avenue South in Seattle.

The offensive lineman is just the latest Seahawk to give back to the community before the school year starts.

On Aug. 14, rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf surprised 25 Seattle Public Schools teachers at the Southcenter Mall JCPenney with $200 gift cards to buy back-to-school essentials.

Fluker was drafted in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers after starring at the University of Alabama.

The offensive guard joined the Seahawks in March of 2018 and played in 10 games last year.

In March, Fluker signed a two-year contract extension to remain with the Seahawks.

The Seahawks play their final preseason game at 7 p.m. on Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders at CenturyLink Field.
