The average price of lunch in downtown Seattle has jumped 50 percent in the last 10 years, according to a new report from The Food Oasis.
The Food Oasis, a site dedicated to helping customers pick the best meal delivery services and grocery services, has been tracking meal prices across the United States over the past 10 years.
Their data show that in 2008, the average price of a casual lunch in downtown Seattle was $8.09, while that number rose to $12.93 in 2018.
The numbers from The Food Oasis coincide with Seattle being one of the fastest growing cities in the United States over the past 10 years.
In January 2018, KIRO 7's Deedee Sun found that Seattle was the most expensive city to grab a burger -- an average hamburger costs $6.26. Compare that to $3.49 for a burger in Phoenix.
The Food Oasis study collected data from a variety of downtown Seattle lunch restaurants and/or from menus of years past.
