Renton to give out masks to fight spread of COVID-19

RENTON, Wash. — The city of Renton announced Wednesday that it will hand out 20,000 masks free to residents starting Thursday to help in the fight against the coronavirus.

The distribution will happen at the Renton Community Center, located at 1715 Maple Valley Highway, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursdays.

Employees of the city’s Recreation and Neighborhoods division and Human Services division will be handing out two five-mask packets for as long as supplies last.

Seniors who pick up lunches during the senior lunch program at the Renton Senior Activity Center will also receive masks.
