YAKIMA, Wash. — An investigation is underway after an armed robbery suspect was shot and then struck by a Yakima police patrol car on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at North 5th Avenue and West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where a chase ended.
At the intersection, the suspect got out of their vehicle with a shotgun and was shot one time by police and then struck by a patrol car, law enforcement said.
Police said the suspect was conscious when they were taken away to the hospital.
No officers were injured.
The Yakima Valley Independent shoot team has been called to investigate following the officer-involved shooting.
