Police said a Pasco woman who is a suspect in an assault climbed onto an officer’s patrol car and twerked for a short time before she was arrested Wednesday.

The incident began when a 28-year-old woman drove to the parking lot at Tuscany Plaza on Road 68 to meet the suspect, a 37-year-old woman, regarding an argument.

Police said the victim, who had a concealed weapons permit, had a pistol with her.

Witnesses said as the victim’s car arrived, the suspect and a man moved toward it to confront the driver.

When the victim refused to get out of her car, the 37-year-old woman climbed up on the hood, leaned in through the car’s open sunroof, and began punching the younger woman, the victim told police.

The suspect then pulled off the victim’s wig before climbing into the car through the sunroof, where she continued the attack, officers said.

The victim said she fired a warning shot to draw attention to the attack and to get someone to call police. The gunshot hit the pavement near the car.

When an officer arrived, he found both women inside the car in an apparent struggle over the gun. He separated the two and secured the pistol as backup officers arrived.

The suspect, who was initially told to wait in front of the officer’s car, climbed onto the car’s push bars and “twerked a little,” a Facebook post from Pasco police said.

She was quickly placed in handcuffs and was booked into the Franklin County Jail for investigation of third-degree assault. Pasco police said her name and photos of her face are not being released because she may be involved in a larger pending investigation.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call dispatch at 509-628-0333 or email Pasco Officer Adam Wright at wrighta@pasco-wa.gov and refer to assault case #21-28342.
