SEATTLE — A pedestrian who tried to flag down a King County Metro bus Thursday evening is dead, police say.
Police say at about 5:40 p.m. the man attempted to flag down a southbound bus near Elliott Avenue West and West Roy Street, but witnesses say he stumbled and fell into the street in front of the bus.
The driver attempted to avoid the man but struck him, police say.
Authorities say the driver was checked for signs of impairment and showed none.
The investigation is ongoing.
