Victim of fatal SeaTac shooting identified

SEATAC, Wash. — Police are investigating after a shooting outside a house early Saturday morning in SeaTac.

A 20-year-old man was taken to Harborview and the King County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was in extremely critical condition. The man later died from his injuries, police said Sunday.

He was identified Wednesday as Rafael Villanueva.

The shooting is now a homicide investigation, officials said.

Police said the man was found shot in a parked car near the 17100 block of Military Road South.

Neighbors say police and sheriff's cars swarmed the neighborhood.

“I was scared. What is going on? There were so many of them. They had dogs, ATF, all kinds of police,” said Fred Gichohi, who lives behind the house where the incident happened.

Another neighbor told us off camera that he heard the gunshots but thought they were fireworks.

The sheriff's office says there was a gathering or party at the house.

A 20-year-old man went outside for some reason and sat in a car parked here..

“There’s a BMW always at the corner and I can see sometimes they removed the wheels,” Gichohi said.

Shortly after the victim got in the car, someone shot him around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Later, people from the house came outside and found the victim in the passenger seat of the car.

Neighbors say recently, there's been more activity at this house but say there was no trouble until now.

Police conducted a K-9 track but were unable to find a suspect.

King County Major Crimes Detectives are investigating.
