Police investigating after woman killed in Ballard

SEATTLE — A woman who showed up at a Ballard convenience store with severe injuries early Friday was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Seattle police said she appeared at a 7-Eleven at 999 Northwest Leary Way shortly before 3 a.m.

Initially, the woman was believed to have been stabbed inside an RV, where blood-soaked sheets were seen. But Seattle police later said the exact cause of her injuries is under investigation.

The woman in her 30s was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She died soon after.

A man was taken into custody. Detectives believe that the suspect and victim knew each other.

Seattle police detectives are investigating.
