RENTON, Wash. — Renton police arrested a teenager Friday morning in connection with an attempted robbery and assault in Renton.
The suspect will be charged with first-degree assault and attempted robbery with a firearm, police said.
Police said at 6:45 p.m. on March 13, an armed assailant approached a person sitting in their car at a laundromat located at 1222 Bronson Way N., placed a gun to the person’s head and told them to get out.
As the person got out, the aggressor pistol-whipped the person, which led to a fight, police said. Then, the assailant shot the person in the leg.
Police said the assailant then shot at the victim twice more, striking the car.
The suspect fled on foot through an alley.
Renton police thanked the community for its help in identifying the suspect. They have not released further details because the suspect is a minor.
