Pierce County Prosecutor Mary Robnett is now working from home after testing positive for COVID-19.
Spokesperson Adam Faber said Robnett started to feel ill Saturday morning and received a COVID test around noon that day.
Her symptoms included fatigue, aches, fever and a headache.
An email went out to the prosecutor’s staff on Monday, alerting them to the positive test.
In the email, Robnett wrote, “At this point I do not know where or how I contracted the virus, and perhaps never will. I will be staying out of the office through at least Nov. 24 and possibly longer.”
Robnett was in the office on Thursday and Friday but had limited contact with staff.
Like much of Washington, Pierce County has seen a steady climb in cases after Halloween.
