Olympia police found a bag full of drugs that a suspect discarded in the bushes after stealing a woman’s purse, according to the police department.
Earlier this month, officers were called to an argument between a man and a woman.
Witnesses told officers they saw the man take the woman’s purse. He then ran down an alley, where he tossed his black bag into some bushes before leaving the area.
Officers spoke with the woman, who said she knew the suspect. They found her purse and wallet nearby, and the man’s black bag in the bushes.
Officers said the black bag contained $4,000 in cash, 153 grams of methamphetamine, 5.56 grams of heroin, 513 fentanyl pills, a scale and other drug paraphernalia.
The case was referred to the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Office.
