Slick roads cause 8 to 12-car crash in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — A crash involving 8 to 12 cars, including a state trooper’s patrol car, closed a ramp to I-5 in Tacoma early Tuesday.

The crash happened on the ramp from the SR-7 extension to northbound I-5.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer said there were only minor injuries with one person taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The ramp was closed for a few hours while the crash was cleared, but has since reopened.
