SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Tuesday evening in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.
The shooting happened at Third Avenue and Yesler Way before 7 p.m.
Police said a man with a gunshot wound was taken to Harborview Medical Center.
This comes after news conference was held Tuesday morning after a rash of six shootings over the weekend. Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz and other city leaders spoke.
Diaz said Tuesday morning’s shooting continues a troubling trend of more than 100 additional shootings so far this year compared to this time last year.
“We’re better than this. This community came together in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and it is going to take an even greater community effort to push back on the relentless threat of violence,” Diaz said.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
