Officers arrest suspect in fatal shooting at Delridge homeless camp

SEATTLE — A suspect has been arrested in a fatal shooting at an encampment in Seattle’s Delridge neighborhood, according to Seattle police.

Emergency dispatchers received a call at 12:20 a.m. Monday reporting someone had been shot at a homeless camp near 26th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Juneau Street.

Officers arrived and found a man with significant injuries. Medics from the Seattle Fire Department arrived and declared the man dead at the scene.

On Tuesday at about 8:15 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing the shooting suspect in the south Delridge area.

Officers found and arrested the 43-year-old man and transported him to Seattle Police Department headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives. Detectives then booked him into King County Jail for investigation of murder.
