SEATTLE — Seattle police detectives said a 21-year-old man was hurt in a fight and shooting in the New Holly neighborhood early Thursday.

Shortly after midnight, the victim and a 23-year-old man were coming off the Chief Sealth Trail near 32nd Avenue South and South Brighton Street when three masked men pulled up in a silver van and yelled for the victims to come over.

When the victims declined, one of the men got out of the van, came over to the victims and demanded they hand over their wallets. The suspect then attacked the victims.

The two other masked men then got out of the van and joined the fight. During the scuffle, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the 21-year-old victim in the arm.

The three suspects then returned to their van and drove away.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Robbery unit detectives are investigating. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 206-684-5535 or 911.
