LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Breanna Cross has a home surveillance camera that captured a thief rummaging through items in her living room Wednesday.
“And when he’s crouched down, he can see the gun from right there,” the Lynnwood resident, said. “So he stands up and he just grabs the gun.”
The video shows the burglar armed with a handgun when he enters the apartment.

“Not only did he come in with a gun, he also stole an additional gun [that belongs to me],” Cross said. “It’s a 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. We have the license for it. We have a serial number that was all given to the police and everything.”
Cross turned over the surveillance video to the Snohomish
County Sheriff’s Office, who are still trying to identify the suspect. Police were able to find some finger prints off of the drawer he opened in the living room.
“I’d say [he’s] about 5 feet 10 inches or 5 feet 11 inches [and in his early 20s]. Like I said, [he has] bushy dark eyebrows [and a] skinny face. [He] kind of looks like he has a pointed nose in a way,” Cross said. “I would say [he has] lighter skin. I wouldn’t really say [that he’s] Caucasian.”
To combat thieves – she decided to install a camera at home after another incident took place last year at a different apartment complex.
“I know with our last gun that was stolen – [during] our last robbery – the reason why they got caught is because they actually tried to sell it. And they actually got caught trying to use it in another robbery.”
Cross is just grateful she wasn’t home when the guy broke into her apartment.
“What if I was taking a shower getting ready for work? That would have been a completely different story. I would obviously like to have my gun back and not [have it] on the streets, where somebody else could get hurt because of my gun.”
KIRO 7 reached out to the apartment complex, but they didn’t want to comment. Cross is hoping her cash reward will lead to an arrest.
