Guests evacuated as fire rips through Kingston hotel; man arrested

KINGSTON, Wash. — A Kingston hotel had to be evacuated after it broke out in flames and a man was arrested.

The fire at the Blue Water in, 11045 NE State Highway 104, was called in to emergency dispatchers as being a brush fire, but when fire crews arrived about 4 a.m., they saw the hotel was burning.

All of the guests at the 20 unit hotel were evacuated and the fire has since been knocked down.

One of the two buildings at the hotel has a badly burned roof and third floor.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office later said a 60-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with the fire.  He is being interviewed by sheriff's investigators.

No injuries were reported.
