Four people from Washington sickened by salmonella linked to recalled tuna

Four people from Washington state are recovering after a Salmonella outbreak linked to tuna.

Two cases were in King County and the others were in Grays Harbor and Spokane counties

So far, there are 13 cases in seven states.

The Centers for Disease Control linked the illness to frozen, ground raw tuna from Jensen Tuna in Louisiana. The company issued a voluntary recall.

The Food and Drug Administration said it’s unlikely that the recalled ground tuna was sold directly to consumers in grocery stores. It was likely used in food dishes sold by restaurants or retailers.

Anyone who orders or buys sushi made with raw tuna, including "spicy tuna," should ask if the tuna is from Jensen Tuna.
