SEATTLE, Wash. — A convicted felon from California was formally charged Monday for beating and sexually assaulting a 71-year-old woman at a Seatac assisted living facility.
Louis Arbee pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree rape and first- and second-degree robbery.
Prosecutors say he attacked his victim at the Falcon Ridge Assisted Living.

Authorities believe Arbee entered the woman's room through a window on July 20 while she was watching TV.
Once inside, he hit her several times on the side of the head before wrapping his hands around her throat and sexually assaulting her, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.

Before leaving, Arbee made demands about what she should and shouldn't do next. He also stole her cellphone and iPad, according to charging documents.
She suffered a number of injuries from the incident and was taken to the hospital.

Arbee was arrested two days later.
His bail is set at $750,000.
Arbee served nearly 20 years in the California state prison system for charges ranging from attempted kidnapping to robbery and was found guilty of battery and rape while incarcerated.
