CLYDE HILL, Wash. — The conclusion of a police chase jammed traffic on eastbound State Route 520 in Clyde Hill Friday morning.
The chase ended at about 6 a.m. Friday, just east of 92nd Avenue Northeast, according to Trooper Rick Johnson.
A man was taken into custody.
Johnson said the driver of a stolen SUV led officers on an “extremely short first pursuit,” before officers used a PIT maneuver to try to stop the driver, who was heading the wrong direction.
The first attempt to stop the driver failed, but a second PIT maneuver was successful.
Police activity blocked all but one right lane for about two hours, slowing traffic to a crawl.
All lanes reopened at 7:52 a.m.
SECOND UPDATE: The 92nd Ave NE on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 is partially blocked but you are able to merge on early. The transit-on ramp from Yarrow Point Freeway Station, the HOV lane, and the left general purpose lane remain completely blocked. This is in #ClydeHill. pic.twitter.com/JYyHtwExoU
