Eastbound SR 520 bridge to be closed this weekend

The eastbound lanes of the State Route 520 bridge will be fully closed this weekend as crews pour concrete for the new eastbound SR 520 lid, the Washington State Department of Transportation announced.

The closure from Montlake Boulevard East in Seattle to 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill will start at 11 p.m. Friday and end at 7 a.m. Sunday.

Eastbound SR 520 will stay open between Interstate 5 and Montlake Boulevard. Westbound SR 520 and the SR 520 Trail will remain open, WSDOT said.

State officials have said that 2023 will be an “unprecedented” construction year that will bring closures to many Puget Sound area freeways. The Montlake section of SR 520 should be done in about a year.
