BONNEY LAKE, Wash. — East Pierce Fire and Rescue officials are warning residents after reports of people posing as firefighters to gain access to residents’ homes.
Earlier this week, Fire Chief Bud Backer said the people were wearing generic fire department shirts and offering home safety inspections.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue officials said their firefighters will only enter homes when requested.
Anyone who is in doubt, is urged to deny entry and contact 911 immediately.
