Suspect causes multivehicle crash during chase

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A driver who led a Joint Base Lewis McChord patrol car on a high-speed chase crashed, causing a multivehicle collision Saturday evening, authorities said.

JBLM officials said an officer was trying to stop a reckless driver when a high-speed chase began at 8th Avenue South and Highway 507, located near East Gate Road.

During the chase, the driver crashed into two other vehicles and then rolled over at Spanaway Loop Road and Military Road, according to officials.

Officials did not provide any information on injuries or if anyone had to be taken to the hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
