YELM, Wash. — Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a Thurston County deputy and a man injured Friday night in Yelm.
A deputy was dispatched around 8 p.m. to a disturbance at a residence in the 16900 block of Holly Street Southeast.
The 911 caller told police a man at the home was making threats.
Within two minutes of arriving, the deputy told dispatch that shots were fired and she had been stabbed, according to officials.
Yelm police officers and Thurston County deputies responded and began giving aid to the deputy and the suspect.
The deputy, a woman in her 30s, was taken to St. Peters Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The suspect, a white man in his 40s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Deputies said the Regional 3 Critical Incident Investigation Team will investigate.
