CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN, Wash. — Crystal Mountain is extending its ski season after receiving more than 5 feet of unexpected snow this month.
The extension will give visitors four extra weekends of skiing, snowboarding and gondola rides Friday to Sunday, with limited terrain and lift operations to take advantage of deeper snowpack at higher elevations.
For the Memorial Day weekend, the resort will be open Friday to Monday, with the final day of the season on Monday, May 30.
If conditions permit, the Mount Rainier Gondola and Green Valley Express chairlift will be operating.
The Mount Rainier Gondola will stay open on weekends for sightseeing through June. Daily summer operations start July 1.
Crystal will run five lifts this weekend: Discovery, Chinook Express, Rainier Express, and Green Valley Express will be open from 9 a.m.to 2:30 p.m., and the Mount Rainier Gondola will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The kids and beginner-friendly Discovery chair will operate on Saturday and Sunday only.
More information about hours and tickets can be found on the Crystal Mountain website.
