ISSAQUAH, Wash. — As it nears mating season in June and July, Issaquah residents got a reminder on Monday that they live in “bear country” when a bear was spotted just off the West Tiger 3 trail.

The bear did not approach the hiker but certainly looked curious to the human who was filming it on their phone.

The city of Issaquah reminds residents annually to guard themselves by keeping their garbage cans in the garage or another secure area.

Residents should also remove pet food from areas accessible to wildlife and take down seed and hummingbird feeders until winter.
