SEATTLE — A man’s anger about a neighbor’s barking dog in North Seattle led to him and his wife’s arrests in several crimes on Thursday.
Around 4:45 p.m., Seattle police officers were called to a noise complaint on North 107th Street.
A man was angry about a neighbor’s dog barking, so he turned up his music as loud as possible.
After officers left the building, the man playing the loud music went onto his balcony and started yelling that he was going to shoot people, according to a Seattle Police Department significant incident report.
The man threatened to hurt several people, and his threats included “extremely offensive and racially biased language,” the report said.
During the man’s tirade, he threw a glass at a woman walking by. The glass hit a wall and showered her with glass shards.
As officers arrived, the man and his wife left from the back of the building and fled in their car.
The man was found at a convenience store at 125th Street North and Aurora Avenue North. As he was leaving the store, officers ordered him to stop, but the man turned and went back into the store.
Police said his wife then blocked the entrance to the store and tried to punch an officer in the face.
The woman was arrested for investigation into assault and obstruction, and her husband was arrested for investigation into hate crimes, threats to kill, and assault.
