Amtrak Cascades train service from Seattle to Canada remains on hold due to staffing shortage

Amtrak Cascades train service from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia is still on hold, as the Washington State Department of Transportation said no date has been given on when it will resume.

According to the Amtrak Cascades website, the delay is due to staffing shortages.

WSDOT said it would like to provide a specific time, but Amtrak has not committed to a date.

However, bus service going north is available.

Cantrail Coach Lines is running buses between the Emerald City and Vancouver four times daily.

Amtrak Cascades said as soon as it has an exact date for when train service returns, it will inform the public.
