100 people evacuated from Pioneer Square buildings after natural gas leak

Seattle Fire Department evacuated around 100 people in Pioneer Square for a natural gas incident on Monday.

The leak investigation started around 2:30 p.m. on Monday near 4th Avenue and Yesler Way. People from four buildings were evacuated.

A hazardous materials team stopped the leak, but 4th Avenue was closed to traffic during the investigation.

SFD monitored air quality for normal levels before letting people back into buildings.
